    • Customized Fields
      Led the implementation of customized fields which is to enable system to be extended by user defined fields. Improved system usage by 3% and received great feedback from users.
    • Trigger based on MQ
      Designed and implemented a new trigger system based on RocketMQ, resulting in 5% increase of system reliability and fewer user complains.
    • User Direct Feedback
      Led the implementation of user direct feedback project. Managed task allocation and timeline and also developed both FE and BE for the project.
    • Datetime and timezone handling
      Researched and proposed handling of datetime with timezone for the whole team. Enabled the project to have timezone related features.

    From Sept 2018 To Sept 2019

    • Email Support Flow
      Re-designed and developed email case processing, resulting in great improvement in code maintainability and reducing latency by 5%.
    • Email Composer
      Implemented a new version of email composer, resulting in great user feedback and increase of 2% in reliability of sending email action.

  • Data Engineer @ Dynamic Technology Lab

    From May 2016 To Aug 2018

    • Data Manager
      Developed a project for managing data access for researchers, syncing data for users and monitoring data job running status. Brought up data research speed by 4% and improving data monitor alarm accuracy by 15%.

      Worked with many researchers on various data projects by communicating with data vendors, developing solutions and cleaning up raw data, resulting in a gain of 10% in research speed.

    From Jan 2016 To Mar 2016

    • GPlus Admin
      Worked with 2 colleagues and developed an easy-to-use configuration admin panel for publishing game content on application and greatly enhanced the content management flow.
    • Friends Notifier
      Designed and developed a system for notifying users when friends are online. Made use of Kafka to greatly improve scalability.

    From May 2015 To Aug 2015

    Collaborated with designer and backend developer and using Swift to develope an iOS app. Explored use of cocoapods and many new Swift libraries for development and received good evaluations from managers.

    Tutored and coached 2-4 teams of students, providing feedback to students and offering help based individual's strengths and weaknesses.

  • Web Developer @ Teammates, Google Summer of Code

    From May 2014 To Aug 2014

    Worked as a full-stack developer for Teammates project. During this period, I designed and implemented access control feature for the website from ground up. I also helped to improve the test coverage of the system by 10%.
